Pop Quiz: How many female comic/cartoon/anime/videogame characters have escape skills?

This question is rather recent after I started focusing back on my own escapologist. The question also popped into mind when I was half-asleep rambling with TCPolecat7 who I keep bugging on a regular basis. Luckily he put up with my silly nonsense and we started bantering about how many lovely lasses can slip through restraints be it regularly or on occasion. A small list came out of our discussions but proves to be a nice healthy roster:

U-89
From John Willie’s Sweet Gwendoline series and whose job was to rescue Gwen whenever she got herself tied up in a bad situation which was pretty often. It was established early on that U-89 had escapologist skills after she freed herself from a full-body pole-tie. U-89’s also a master locksmith.
This is the first time I’ve actually drawn her.

Storm
Before becoming X-Men’s personal weather generator Ororo was a young thief who learned lock picking skills and always keeps a set of lock picks hidden on her person. Storm also has decent escape skills and she has occasionally been shown escaping from rope ties. An Urban Comic Legend has it that she holds an escapology seminar for the other x-women so that they could have a better chance of freeing themselves, one particular student had become her best pupil while the jury's certainly out to lunch when it comes to the rest of the gals.
It makes me wish somebody working on the X-Men comics would do a few pages of that seminar…

Zatanna
Everybodys favorite DC magician normally uses her magical reverse-words to do her magic act and crime fighting but she also is a full-fledged escapologist and probably doesn‘t need to say ‘epacse‘ in order to perform any escape stunt.

Brande
I created her in the mid-80’s, one of her earlier incarnations was a redhead who was originally going to be an anime-styled military girl or motorcycle racer. She started becoming an escapologist shortly after I watched a Houdini-tribute and wished a gal had tried his suspended straitjacket stunt.
Brande’s hairstyle was based on a few anime styles at the time and didn’t go through any real changes until recently. She originally had the habit of calling everybody ‘luv.’

Trucy Wright
A new character from the Apollo Justice videogame, a magician who loves bad puns as much as I do. Trucy has ‘magic rope’ that she uses but it was never explained if it was used for restraint or levitation. She has mentioned that she has escaped from a large box before.
There wasn’t any examples in the game of her performing any escape stunts. Still, good enough, you‘re in gal!

Kitty Pryde
Ororo’s best student from her escape skills seminar. While it’s pretty much of a no-brainer that Kitty can escape restraints as easily as walking through walls, there have been a few times where her powers had been negated and is rendered helpless. However during one of those demon/ninja-possession plot devices where she learned how to be more formidable in unarmed combat Kitty also learned some escape skills that she can use to free herself whenever her powers are temporarily unavailable to her.

Viper
The former thief from Jackie Chan Adventures who now uses her cat burglar skills to test security systems as a security advisor. She’s also been shown demonstrating impressive escape skills, the one time in the series was when she was wrapped up in chains and quickly slipped out through them.

It was quite satisfying coming up with a decent list with TCPolecat7's help. It didn't take long coming up with the fanboy-idea of having these gals get together in an informal club, so with that premise I quickly came up with the Escape Dolls name. Already I’m planning a pic that was intended to be the 700k page views commemorative. There's probably a couple more that we didn't think about, maybe those gals might show up later once some more research is done. In the meantime I hope you enjoy!

people look at a glass as half empty or half full but they way I see it is... Who drank from my glass!!!
:iconrassilon001:
Likely none, how else could they get into such delightful situations (only to have such situations ruined when the male hero comes to rescue them?)

If they need a nemesis, of the female persuasion, you may want to look up Carla Draper, daughter of Carl Draper, aka Master Jailer. She takes after her father designing deathtraps.

lol I didn't know Storm was once a thief, that's news to me. Is this going to be a decently long series of picture?
:iconmauser712:
Have you a list of her appearances?
:iconturbov21:
She's usually seen with her father, who's shown up in these books:

And I think she was also in the 90's Superboy series:
